This recipe makes approximately two 9-inch bottom crusts.Supplies Needed:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a01 cup unsalted butter<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a02 \u00bd cups flour<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a01 tsp salt<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a01 tsp sugar<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ice water (you will be using about 5-8 tablespoons making your crust)<\/p>\n<p>Also, keep on hand large mixing bowl, measuring cups, measuring spoons, pastry cutter and foil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1: In Advance, Chill Your Butter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When making pie crust, you must make sure all your wet ingredients are very cold. This is important because you don\u2019t want your butter to melt at all during the crust-making process.<\/p>\n<p>To help ensure this, you should also chill your butter. You can it into \u00bd inch cubes and place it into the freezer, at least 1 hour before starting your crust.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-89889\" title=\"1-freeze-butter\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20140814063058im_\/http:\/\/www.natural-holistic-health.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/1-freeze-butter.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"317\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2: Combine Your Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After your butter is sufficiently chilled, you can take it out of the freezer and place it in a large mixing bowl.
