Nourishing b. Stimulating c. Toning d. Soothing e. I put this on my wet hair, wrap in a towel on my head, wear it for 20 minutes &amp;\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/dead-sea.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shampoo<\/a>! Awesome!<\/p>\n<p>Another Hot Oil Treatment<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 teaspoon\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soybean OIl<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Castor Oil<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<p>Combine ingredients then warm on low heat. massage mixture into the scalp and hair. Wrap hair in a hot towel for 15 minutes.\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/dead-sea.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shampoo<\/a>\u00a0&amp; rinse out.<\/p>\n<p>RUSSIAN HAIR TREATMENT PACK<\/p>\n<p>This is better than a simple hot oil treatment. It leaves the hair looking stunning-thick, luxuriant, and shiny. The effects last a long time, even the light scent of the\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Essential Oil<\/a>\u00a0will linger through several shampoos.<\/p>\n<p>2 egg yolks, slightly beaten 1 tablespoon oil (<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Safflower<\/a>, almond, coconut, or walnut 1 drop\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Essential Oil<\/a>\u00a0(lemon,\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tangerine<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jasmine<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rose<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sandalwood<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rosemary<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Before applying, moisten the hair very slightly by running wet fingers through it, then massage the egg mixture into hair and scalp. Wrap head in a towel (and plastic if desired) and sit back in a sauna, take a long hot bath, or\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/relaxation.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Relax<\/a>\u00a0in a warm place. (The heat of a sauna is the best environment for this treatment.) Leave the pack on for one hour, if possible, even two or three!<\/p>\n<p>To cleanse, rinse hair in warm water, then apply a lot of\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/dead-sea.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shampoo<\/a>\u00a0directly to the hair, wash well, and rinse. If you\u2019ve used enough\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/dead-sea.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shampoo<\/a>, only one wash is needed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rosemary<\/a>\u00a0Hot Oil Treatment<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup of dried\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rosemary<\/a>\u00a0leaves<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Olive Oil<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<p>Combine ingredients then heat up until warm. Strain. Coat the entire scalp and ends of hair with the oil mixture. Wrap hair in saran wrap and a towel over that, leave on for 15 minutes. Wash hair twice to remove the oil. Use this treament twice a month or when your needs a\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/dead-sea.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deep Conditioning<\/a>. Leaves your hair shiny and rehydrated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"post\">\n<h2 id=\"post-22\"><a title=\"Permanent Link to Natural Care For Burns and Scalds\" href=\"\/general\/natural-care-for-burns-and-scalds\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">Natural Care For Burns and Scalds<\/a><\/h2>\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>For\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Teas<\/a>, the rule of thumb is, one teaspoon of herb per cup of boiling water unless otherwise noted.<\/p>\n<p>Unless otherwise noted, steep leaves 5 to 10 minutes in a covered container, twigs, bark and roots, steep 10 to 15 minutes (covered).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aloe<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vera<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; the juice from the leaves is applied directly on the burn.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bilberry<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Spread berry extract on cleansed skin and cover with a cotton bandage.<\/p>\n<p>Bittersweet &#8211; for burns and scalds bathe with extract from the year old greenish brown shoots (or purchase extract). Note, for general skin toning, purchase extract and take a teaspoonful in a little water (this helps the body to\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/detox-drops-detoxification-formula.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eliminate Toxins<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Burdock<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; bruise the leaves, combine with egg whites and make a poultice to apply to the burn.<\/p>\n<p>Chickweed &#8211; can be used by\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/real-heal-massage-oil.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bruising<\/a>\u00a0the leaves and creating a poultice, extracting the juice and applying it to the burn, or by boiling a couple handfuls of the herb in 2 quarts of water for 10 minutes, then cooled and used as a wash.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Comfrey<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; the entire plant can be used, mash to a pulp, and apply as a poultice to the burn.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Echinacea<\/a>&#8211; extract from the root\u2026 bruised leaves as a poultice<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Golden Seal<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; the powdered root is used in a wash (note:\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Golden Seal<\/a>\u00a0will stain)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Houseleek<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; (also known as stone crop or Jupiter\u2019s eye, not a member of the allium family) use the juice from the leaves or bruised leaves as a poultice to apply to the burn.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hyssop<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; bruise the herb and apply as a poultice<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marshmallow<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; the juice from the root, and bruised leaves from the plant are used with egg white to make an adhesive poultice which soothes an cleanses the burn.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nettle<\/a>&#8211; a tincture (herb is soaked in alcohol for 14 days, then filtered, some also add\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glycerin<\/a>\u00a0mainly as a preservative to prevent evaporation) is made with the herb which then can be used to apply to the burn to take away pain.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plantain<\/a>&#8211; a poultice is made by mashing the leaves and then applying to the burn. Note some folks keep a mucilage by boiling the seeds, straining and cooling.<\/p>\n<p>Slippery Elm &#8211; Tea is used as a soothing wash or can be used as a poultice<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tansy<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; 1 teaspoon of herb per one pint water, infuse for 5 or 6 minutes and drink as a tea. The strained herb can also be directly applied to sunburn. Note this tea is mainly a good general\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/dead-sea.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Toner<\/a>\u00a0for the skin, and is not considered to be as strong a relief as the other remedies listed on this page.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/herbs-oils.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yarrow<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; 1 teaspoon of the herb boiled in 1 cup of water for 15 minutes, strained, cooled then used as a wash for the burn.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On occasion it is beneficial to take time to\u00a0Relax\u00a0in a soothing special bath and smooth the skin.
