{"id":18004,"date":"2025-09-15T15:22:57","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T19:22:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valuecare.wpgamma.com\/?p=18004"},"modified":"2025-09-15T15:22:57","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T19:22:57","slug":"aspirin-not-as-benign-as-you-think","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/valuecare.wpgamma.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/15\/aspirin-not-as-benign-as-you-think\/","title":{"rendered":"Aspirin: Not as benign as you think!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>by <a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/xtend-life-natural-products.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Warren Matthews<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/xtend-life-natural-products.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Xtend-Life<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>According to a paper in the\u2026 \u201cProceedings of the Annual Scientific Meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology, October 15, 2007\u201d, common over-the-counter painkillers such as aspirin kill around 20,000 Americans every year, and another 100,000 end up in hospital as a result of taking the drug.<\/p>\n<p>Painkillers known as NSAIDs (non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs) are far more dangerous than people have been told, and can cause life-threatening gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, stomach perforations and ulcers.<\/p>\n<p>More than 14 million Americans regularly take an NSAID for their\u00a0<a href=\"\/remedies-treatments\/joint-ease-arthritis-remedy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arthritis<\/a>\u00a0pain alone, and around 60 per cent of these will suffer gastrointestinal side effects \u2013 and will probably never blame the drug, researchers from the Eastern Virginia Medical School estimate.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers realized that patients weren\u2019t associating the painkiller with their stomach problems when they carried out a survey among patients at a clinic that specializes in gastrointestinal disease.
