Oxygen is carried in the red blood cells, so people who are\u00a0<a href=\"\/recommends\/IronSupplements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">anemic<\/a>\u00a0may develop shortness of breath. No matter what the cause, breathing problems should be taken seriously.<\/p>\n<p>The sensation of dyspnea varies between individuals as does the perception of what it means to be short of breath. For some people, merely walking up a flight of stairs can leave them with an uncomfortable sensation of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.respiratorydiseaseinfection.com\/shortness-of-breath.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">shortness of breath<\/a>, where others may only be concerned\u00a0<strong>when they feel they are struggling to breathe<\/strong>. In some instances mild\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.respiratorydiseaseinfection.com\/shortness-of-breath.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">shortness of breath<\/a>\u00a0is normal, for instance if one has a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.respiratorydiseaseinfection.com\/common-cold.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">cold<\/a>\u00a0with extreme\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.respiratorydiseaseinfection.com\/nasal-congestion.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">nasal congestion<\/a>, or after exercise when out of shape.<\/p>\n<p>To help recognize shortness of breath, the common signs and symptoms include: breathing fast breathing through pursed lips feeling \u201cwinded\u201d or unable to speak sitting with hands on knees using neck and chest muscles to breathe.\u00a0 Shortness of breath with chest pain can be a symptom of a\u00a0<a href=\"\/recommends\/CardioSupport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">heart attack<\/a>\u00a0and the victim should be seen in the emergency department immediately.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dyspnea is the medical term used to describe\u00a0feeling of breathlessness, inadequate or difficult breathing.
