Sadly Jack Lalanne who has probably done more the good health of the population than any other person passed away a few days ago at the age of 96. He was an amazing man and lived life as it should be\u2026to the maximum! I had the privilege of meeting him in Los Angeles when he was in his early 90\u2019s and his energy was terrific. At the end of his presentation he burst into song with no accompaniment\u2026and he had a strong voice.<\/p>\n

Paul\u00a0Bragg<\/a>\u00a0who is long gone but who is still remembered by us older people as another health pioneer helped get Jack Lalanne started on his road to health and fitness. In fact it was Paul\u00a0Bragg<\/a>\u00a0who got me started about 44 years ago when he did a tour of New Zealand. Jack Lalanne did some incredible physical feats. His most notable one being when he was 60 and swam from Alcatraz Island to Fishermans Wharf in San Fancisco \u2013 handcuffed and towing a boat!<\/p>\n

When I met him in his early 90\u2019s he admitted that towing his wife across the bath was more his limit those days. It is sad that he has moved on but he will always remain an inspiration to those of us that recognise that quality of life and good health is something that we can all have\u2026but, we have to consciously work on it.
