Helpful, are\u00a0essential oils<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0basil<\/a>,\u00a0clove<\/a>,\u00a0camphor<\/a>,\u00a0menthol<\/a>,\u00a0eucalyptus<\/a>,\u00a0ginger<\/a>,\u00a0black pepper<\/a>,\u00a0wintergreen<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0peppermint<\/a>,\u00a0rosemary<\/a>\u00a0oils and are all beneficial for\u00a0pain management<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Basil<\/a>: contains several\u00a0antioxidants<\/a>\u00a0in its volatile oils that act just like some non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and Celebrex.<\/p>\n

When isolated at high enough concentrations these oils worked as well as ibuprofen, naproxen, and aspirin in research trials.<\/p>\n

Camphor<\/a>\u00a0is a white transparent waxy crystalline solid with a strong penetrating pungent aromatic odor. As an antimicrobial substance,\u00a0camphor<\/a>\u00a0is readily absorbed through the skin and produces a feeling of cooling similar to that of\u00a0menthol<\/a>\u00a0and acts as slight local anesthetic. In larger quantities, it is poisonous when ingested and can cause\u00a0seizures<\/a>, confusion, irritability, and neuromuscular hyperactivity. Found in our Muscular\/Pain Remedy Blend.<\/p>\n

Clove<\/a>: this intense oil, most commonly used to relieve dental pain and infection, is also used to dissolve the eggs deposited by intestinal\u00a0worms<\/a>. It is delicious but overwhelming in both smell and taste. It is an antiseptic, carminative, warming, and very aromatic oil.<\/p>\n

Eucalyptus<\/a>: reduces pain, spasms and inflammation, and stimulates local blood circulation and the removal of waste products and toxins from the tissues. It is used to treat muscular aches and pains, strains, sprains, and other traumatic injuries of the muscles, ligaments and tendons.<\/p>\n

It also helps to reduce nerve inflammation and pain and is useful for the treatment of the various kinds of\u00a0neuralgia<\/a>\u00a0such as\u00a0sciatica<\/a>.\u00a0Eucalyptus<\/a>\u00a0reduces pain and inflammation due to chronic arthritic conditions. It also has a mild clearing and stimulating effect on the mind which helps to reduce fatigue.<\/p>\n

Ginger<\/a>: This rich, spicy oil so often used for nausea also helps normalize blood pressure either by raises blood pressure by restricting external blood flow, or lowers it by dilating surface blood vessels. This oil is warming and an antiseptic.<\/p>\n

Menthol<\/a>\u00a0is actually a compound obtained from\u00a0peppermint<\/a>\u00a0oil or other\u00a0mint<\/a>\u00a0oils or made synthetically.\u00a0Menthol<\/a>\u00a0has local anesthetic and counterirritant qualities. It is contained in nonprescription products for short-term relief of minor\u00a0sore throat<\/a>\u00a0and minor mouth or throat irritation.\u00a0Menthol<\/a>\u00a0is also contained in combination products used for relief of muscle aches, sprains, and similar conditions. Menthol is often used with other ingredients such as\u00a0camphor<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0eucalyptus<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0pain relief<\/a>.\u00a0Menthol<\/a>\u00a0is considered an antidote for many\u00a0homeopathic remedies<\/a>\u00a0and should be avoided by people taking them. Peppermint<\/a>: acts as a muscle relaxant, particularly in the digestive tract, and it can also reduce the inflammation of nasal passages and relieve muscle pains. When massaged into the skin,\u00a0peppermint<\/a>\u00a0oil plays an innocuous trick on the nerves: It stimulates those that produce a cool, soothing sensation and desensitizes those that pick up pain messages.<\/p>\n

Rosemary<\/a>: Studies show that this oil improves general circulation.<\/p>\n

Tea Tree<\/a>: has a wide range of topical applications and is commonly used to treat skin and respiratory infections. Surprisingly, the oil is active against all three categories of infectious organisms: bacteria, viruses and fungi.\u00a0Tea tree<\/a>\u00a0oil is an effective treatment for many skin conditions, such as\u00a0cold sores<\/a>, the blisters of\u00a0shingles<\/a>\u00a0and chicken pox, verrucae,\u00a0warts<\/a>,\u00a0acne<\/a>, large inflamed spots and nappy rash. It is also effective against fungal infections, such as\u00a0ringworm<\/a>,\u00a0athlete\u2019s foot<\/a>\u00a0and thrush, as well as\u00a0dandruff<\/a>\u2013a mild form of seborrheic dermatitis.<\/p>\n
