If you spill something on your counter or floor, you likely have some variety of \u201call-purpose cleaner<\/a>\u201d that you reach for, and it is most likely in a spray bottle.<\/p>\n

But many of those chemical-laden cleaners are questionable at best and unsafe at the worst \u2013 their labels are festooned with warnings about accidental ingestion, inhalation of fumes, eye contact, skin contact, and so forth.<\/p>\n

However, you are able to use the empty containers of these cleaners to hold your own home-made, nonpoisonous cleaners. Just make certain that you dispose of the contents responsibly (contact your local Environmental Protection Agency or solid waste authority) and wash out the bottle thoroughly if you decide to re-use.<\/p>\n

Here are three recipes for all-purpose, non-toxic cleaners for your house. 2 of them are sprays and the other is a creamy scrubber. While they\u2019re non-toxic as far as cleaners go, it is not a good idea to ingest them or allow your toddler get into them unsupervised (after all, these recipes smell yummy!). But these cleaners are safe enough for your kids to help you clean with your supervision.<\/p>\n
